Ingredients
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 ounce vodka or rum
- 1 ounce coffee liqueur (such as Kahlua)
- 1 ounce brandy
- 1 ounce banana simple syrup
- 1 ounce cream
- caramel syrup and espresso powder for rim garnish
A flavor note: Either vodka or rum work in this cocktail! Keep in mind if you choose dark rum, there will be more notes of caramel. which is equally yummy.
I serve this creamy liqueur coffee cocktail in an ice-filled rocks glasses, or shake and pour it straight up into a chilled martini glass.
If you’d like a less stout cocktail, reduce the brandy and vodka/rum to 1/2 ounce each.
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients (reserving the caramel syrup and espresso powder to rim the glass) in an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously for 20-30 seconds.
- Strain the banana mudslide into an ice-filled, espresso-rimmed rocks glass, or make it a martini cocktail by straining into a chilled martini glass.
- To make the caramel espresso rim, pour a few teaspoons of caramel syrup onto a small, flat plate. Sprinkle a separate small plate with grains of espresso powder. Dip the outer rim of the glass into the caramel syrup, then lightly coat the rim with the espresso powder.
